AMBHER project at MC17-Edinburgh
We’re delighted to celebrate Dr. Fatima Abi-Ghaida’s participation in MC17 – the 17th International Conference on Materials Chemistry, hosted by the Royal Society of Chemistry in Edinburgh.
Dr. Abi-Ghaida presented her latest research on designing nanocatalysts for ammonia synthesis — work that demonstrates remarkable activity and strong potential for sustainable applications.

“I was excited to present our latest work on designing nanocatalysts for ammonia synthesis, which demonstrates outstanding activity and potential for sustainability. It was a fantastic opportunity to share our findings, receive valuable feedback, and engage in meaningful scientific discussions,” said Dr. Abi-Ghaida.
Her work forms part of the AMBHER project, which focuses on engineering the micro- and nanostructure of advanced catalytic systems for ammonia synthesis.
Dr. Josh Makepeace, project lead, praised her contribution: “Fatima brought huge energy and creativity to this project, tackling the micro- and nanostructure of some very challenging catalytic ammonia synthesis systems. It was a pleasure to see her present these exciting results at MC17.”
Dr. Abi-Ghaida’s talk — “Hybrid Solvothermal–Molten Synthesis of M–N–H Systems: A Novel Approach Towards Lithium Nanostructurisation” — is now available on our Dissemination page under the Presentations section for 2025 or CLICK HERE to download it
